Hello Military Banner Families! Important Update!

Hello Military Banner Families:

We are excited about the 2026 Military banner program. Some committee members met with new Mayor Michael Garcia and Councilman Lee Garcia earlier this week.  As you know we needed to get approval on our Resolution to continue the program.  We had a great meeting, and our new City leaders are very support of our program. They will be taking the resolution to the City Council meeting in February for approval.   We do not see any issue getting this approved and have made changes, so it is set for years to come.

More good news is we have decided to increase the number of banners to 250.  This will give more families the opportunity to honor their Veterans.  We are working on narrowing down the date when applications will be open to apply.  Please note this again will be a first come first served basis so do not delay and please continue to check your emails, our Facebook page and website for information.  We will make our best effort to advertise the information in many forms so anyone interested in having a banner can have the opportunity.

For those that do not use technology we will provide an opportunity to fill out a hard copy version of the application.  We are working on a location, days and times you will be able to apply.  We do encourage everyone to apply on our website as it simplifies the process.  This is a perfect opportunity for you to engage that grandchild, nephew or niece to help you and share in honoring your Veteran.  This also gives you someone to pass this on to over time.

The banner committee would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support and kind words of encouragement. This does not happen without you and our great partners.

“We the People”

Peace,

Santa Fe Heroes Military Banner Committee.
