Our Purpose

The Knights of Columbus Council 10517 and our community partners are working together to honor those veterans from Santa Fe and the surrounding areas who were willing to put their lives on the line so their fellow Americans could live in peace and focus on a better life. Our Santa Fe community honors and cherishes the memory of those veterans who stood for freedom and in many instances, gave their all. We believe the Santa Fe Heroes program is a great way of showing our appreciation and we felt the original program needed to be revitalized and updated. We are proud to work with our partners to demonstrate how the Santa Fe community comes together to honor our veterans.

Santa Fe Heroes Banner Application

At this time the application process is now closed for the Santa Fe Heroes Banner 2025 Season!

We are limited to 200 banners. The program will now begin evaluating the new applications received, and if we have hit our limit, applications will be closed for this year.

Thank you to everyone who applied for a new banner and stay tuned for further information.

Ralph Ortiz, a fellow Knight, provided his shop for families to pick up their banners. Ralph believes in Santa Fe and is always doing what he can to promote our city.

The folks at Allegra stepped up to answer our request and was able to print our new banners and turn them around quicker than we could have hoped for.

Proclamation and Banner Locations

The city of Santa Fe, ranked as the best U.S. city in the 2025 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, created the proclamations in 2024 and 2025 that allowed our banner project to move forward by providing the approval and locations we use to honor our heroes. We look forward to our continuing our partnership with the city.
